Building Healthy Communities Through Safe Water and Improved Sanitation
Access to clean water, safe sanitation, and good hygiene should not depend on where you live. At Devrite Community Foundation (DCF), we believe that safe water and sanitation are basic human rights and essential to health, dignity, and development. Through our Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) Program, we work to reduce preventable diseases and improve quality of life by expanding access to reliable water sources, improved sanitation facilities, and hygiene education. From constructing protected water systems to promoting healthy behaviors, our goal is to create healthier, more resilient communities.
Program Components
1. Safe Water Supply Infrastructure
In many communities, people rely on unsafe water sources. Our water interventions reduce the time and burden of water collection, especially for women and children, construct and rehabilitate protected water sources such as boreholes, springs, and rainwater harvesting systems, and improve access to safe, reliable, and sustainable drinking water

2. Sanitation Facilities Development
Poor sanitation increases the spread of disease. We promote improved sanitation by promoting safe waste management practices, supporting the construction of household and institutional latrines, and establishing handwashing stations in homes, schools, and health facilities

3. Hygiene Education & Behavior Change
Infrastructure alone is not enough, behavior change saves lives. Our hygiene initiatives encourage lifelong healthy hygiene behaviors, conduct community hygiene education and awareness campaigns and, promote handwashing with soap and safe water handling practices
